SIMPLY BRILLIANT GRIP HUMOR

So there I was, lurking in the sound stage shadows like a light-sensitive mole. This particular stage typically provided padded folding chairs for the wardrobe department and H&M (Hair & Make-up) to use during filming.  Unfortunately, all of the chairs were being used in video village to accommodate the large number of clients and gawkers on set.

In lieu of standing for hours on concrete floors, an apple box would have to suffice.

I sat perfectly quiet perched on my wooden applebox, diligently watching the monitors for any wardrobe malfunctions, wedgies, or sweat through. Then out of the darkness a hand holding a foam cushion appeared from behind me.  Forever burned into my comedic memory banks, two simple words were whispered into my ear,

“STOOL SOFTENER ?”

BRILLIANT!

Wes Anderson’s latest film, Moonrise Kingdom, is now showing in limited release NOWHERE near me, DRATS!  Cinematic frustration has left me scouring the web for all things Wes Anderson hoping to find an obscure, secret handshake venue releasing the film in the southeast.  It is Wes Anderson, it COULD happen.  During my on-line reconnaissance, I ran across this little commercial gem from 2008.  Anderson teamed up with Brad Pitt for SoftBank, a Japanese mobile communications company. The commercial takes inspiration from Jacques Tati’s Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot. Anderson filmed Pitt in one continuous shot at a French seaside town.

Corduroy: All Wales Welcome

A recent project had me searching for wide wale corduroy.  During my on-line exploration, I came across  a very unique club; The Corduroy Appreciation Club.  Lovers of all wales, narrow and wide, their mission statement is simple: 

   ” …The Corduroy Appreciation Club seeks to advance Corduroy awareness. To that end, it is our goal to provide various resources so that members can accumulate more corduroy. We are open to suggestions and recommendations. “
